Portable CO₂ cryotherapy gun for targeted cold therapy in equine and small-animal recovery — handheld, sensor-guided, case-protected.

Product Overview

IWA-SCT10 portable CO₂ cryotherapy gun — handheld unit with digital temperature display

IWA-SCT10 is a handheld CO₂ cryotherapy gun designed for targeted local cold therapy. Compressed CO₂ from a 2.5 L or 20 L cylinder is expanded at the nozzle to deliver skin-surface cooling down to −15 °C. A 650 nm aiming laser and an infrared skin-temperature sensor allow the operator to keep distance and dose under direct visual feedback. The unit is USB-rechargeable, fits an aluminium carrying case alongside the supply hose, and is suitable for in-clinic and ambulatory equine recovery work.

Key Features

  • Minimum surface temperature −15 °C — clinically meaningful cold dose for swelling reduction and post-exercise recovery.
  • 650 nm aiming laser (< 5 mW) — visible spot for accurate nozzle distance.
  • Infrared skin temperature sensor — non-contact skin reading during treatment.
  • Digital display — current skin temperature and operating status visible to the operator.
  • Cylinder options — 2.5 L for ambulatory use, 20 L for clinic-based / high-volume use.
  • USB rechargeable — DC 5 V / 1 A; no fixed mains location required.
  • Ergonomic single-hand operation — trigger-style with thumb-accessible controls.
  • Aluminium carrying case — protected transport for gun, hose, and accessories.

Clinical Applications

  • Equine post-exercise recovery — gluteal, longissimus, and quadriceps cooling.
  • Acute swelling reduction — joint capsule and soft-tissue injuries.
  • Pain relief — post-injury and post-operative use.
  • Muscle relaxation — for spasm and overuse complaints.
  • Small-animal sport recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Routine maintenance for performance horses and working dogs.

Workflow

Connect the cryogun to a charged CO₂ cylinder via the supply hose. Switch the unit on and verify battery and connection. Position the nozzle approximately at the distance indicated by the aiming laser; trigger CO₂ delivery while monitoring skin temperature on the digital display. Apply in short passes to avoid frostbite; reposition before re-application. Disconnect the cylinder and store gun, hose, and accessories in the aluminium case after use.

Why Choose IWA-SCT10

  • Workflow efficiency — handheld, sensor-guided, no separate console required; ready for ambulatory use.
  • Clinical accuracy — infrared skin sensor + aiming laser deliver consistent dose; risk of frostbite mitigated by direct temperature feedback.
  • Practice economics — single device replaces ice packs and external cooling rigs for routine equine recovery work.

FAQ

Is the CO₂ cylinder supplied with the unit?
The cylinder is sold separately; specify 2.5 L or 20 L at order to suit your usage profile.
How is frostbite avoided?
Use short application passes guided by the aiming laser; monitor skin temperature on the digital display and reposition the nozzle before reaching unsafe surface temperature.
What animals is it suitable for?
Suitable for equine sport recovery and small-animal rehabilitation when used by trained personnel.
How long does the battery last?
The unit is USB-charged at DC 5 V / 1 A; typical session use is supported per charge — confirm specifics with your supplier.
Can it be transported in checked baggage?
The cryogun and case are transportable, but CO₂ cylinders are dangerous goods and must be handled per local regulations.
