Canon ROTANODE E7239X rotating anode X-ray tube assembly — 125 kV, dual 2.0 / 1.0 focal spots, 47 kW anode input.
Product Overview
The E7239X is a Canon ROTANODE rotating anode X-ray tube assembly for general diagnostic radiography. It carries a 74 mm rhenium-tungsten faced molybdenum target with 2.0 and 1.0 focal spots, and is rated to 125 kV with 47 kW large-focus anode input.
It is supplied as a replacement or build tube for veterinary radiography systems. The IEC 60526 high-voltage receptacles and XS-AV stator make it a direct fit for systems already specified around this housing; the tube housing model number is XH-121.
Key Features
- Rhenium-tungsten faced molybdenum target, 74 mm diameter, 16° anode angle — the alloy facing resists the surface crazing that shortens the life of plain tungsten targets

- 47 kW large-focus anode input at 0.1 s (60 Hz), 22.5 kW small focus — short exposures on thick anatomy
- Anode heat content 100 kJ (140 kHU) with 475 W maximum dissipation — sustained list throughput without a forced cooling stop
- Tube assembly heat content 900 kJ (1250 kHU)
- Anode speed minimum 3200 rpm at 60 Hz — heat spread over a larger focal track per exposure

Clinical Applications
- General veterinary radiography — thorax, abdomen, spine and pelvis on large focus
- Extremity and skull detail on small focus
- Equine limb radiography where 125 kV headroom and 47 kW input shorten exposure
- Replacement tube for existing veterinary radiography systems built around the XH-121 housing
- New system builds requiring an IEC 60526 receptacle fit and XS-AV stator drive
Installation & Service Notes
- Confirm the generator can drive an XS-AV stator: starting 1050 W at 200 V, running 270 W at 100 V, 24 µF capacitor
- Load the tube data into the generator after fitting — heat storage 900 kJ, large focus 47 kW / 570 mA, small focus 22.5 kW / 340 mA. A generator still holding the previous tube’s data will either refuse exposures or over-drive the new tube
- High-voltage receptacles are IEC 60526; clean the plugs and apply silicone compound before insertion
- The assembly is glass-based inside. Mechanical shock above 2 G can break it — handle and transport accordingly
- Connect the housing ground terminal and the thermal switch to the generator; the switch inhibits further exposure when the housing reaches its trip temperature
- Fit beam-limiting equipment (a collimator) on the X-ray port. The tube must not be operated without one
- Housing is lead-lined and oil-filled. Dispose of a failed assembly through the appropriate regulated route, not as general waste

Why Choose E7239X
- Rhenium-tungsten faced target and 3200 rpm anode spread heat over a larger focal track — the two factors that decide how many exposures a tube survives
- 47 kW large-focus input shortens exposure on thick anatomy, which is where motion blur and retakes come from
- IEC 60526 receptacles and the XS-AV stator make this a drop-in for systems already built around the XH-121 housing
- Full manufacturer rating data and an EU declaration of conformity are on file — the tube can be specified against documented figures, not a supplier summary

FAQ
Will it fit my existing system? Mechanically, if the system is built for the XH-121 housing — 479 mm long, 152.4 mm maximum diameter, 16 kg, IEC 60526 receptacles. Electrically, the generator must drive an XS-AV stator and accept the tube’s rating data. Send us the model of the tube being replaced and we will confirm.
What are the focal spot sizes? Nominal focal spot values 2.0 (large) and 1.0 (small), per IEC 60336.
How much heat can it take? Anode heat content 100 kJ (140 kHU), maximum anode dissipation 475 W (667 HU/s), and tube assembly heat content 900 kJ (1250 kHU). Without an air circulator, nominal continuous input is 180 W (15 kHU/min).
Does the generator need reconfiguring after fitting? Yes. Tube data must be reloaded — heat storage and the per-focus kW and mA limits. Skipping this step is the most common cause of a new tube failing early.
Is a collimator required? Yes. Beam-limiting equipment must be mounted on the X-ray port. We supply collimators separately.
