Digital electrosurgical unit with independent cut, coagulation and bipolar channels, each set and displayed separately.
Product Overview
The ES5 is a benchtop electrosurgical unit for veterinary theatre use. Cut, coagulation and bipolar outputs each have their own digital display and their own up/down keys, so a setting change on one channel does not disturb the other two.
The front panel carries separate sockets for the neutral electrode, the monopolar handpiece, an endoscopic output and bipolar instruments. Mode selection sits on a single row of keys under the displays.
Key Features
- Three independent digital displays — cut, coagulation and bipolar power are read at a glance, not cycled through one screen
- Per-channel up/down keys — adjust one output mid-procedure without touching the others
- Mode keys on a single row: cut and blended cut, contact and spray coagulation, bipolar
- Dedicated neutral electrode socket with contact monitoring
- Separate endoscopic output socket alongside the standard monopolar output
- Bipolar socket for open and laparoscopic forceps
- Footswitch connector on the rear panel, with a footswitch indicator on the front
- Equipotential earth stud for theatre bonding

Technical Specifications
Clinical Applications
- Routine soft tissue surgery requiring cutting and haemostasis on the same handpiece
- Mass and tumour resection where bleeding controls operating time
- Bipolar dissection near nerves and fine structures, where monopolar current spread is unacceptable
- Laparoscopic procedures using bipolar forceps
- Endoscopic work through the dedicated endoscopic output
Workflow & Installation Notes
- The rear panel is marked for 220 V operation. Confirm the local mains supply before ordering
- Bond the equipotential stud to theatre earth where local practice requires it
- Site the neutral electrode over well-perfused muscle with full-surface contact; the contact monitor flags a fault but correct placement is what prevents a burn
- Set each channel before draping — the per-channel displays are there so settings are not guessed mid-procedure
- Use bipolar rather than monopolar near nerves, vessels and in small patients, where current path length matters

Why Choose ES5
- Three displays instead of one shared screen — the surgeon sees all three settings without asking for a channel to be switched
- Separate endoscopic output means the endoscopic lead is not swapped onto the open monopolar socket between cases
- Neutral electrode contact monitoring is on the unit, not an optional accessory
- Open and laparoscopic bipolar instruments run from the same generator

FAQ
What is the maximum output power? We are confirming the rated output figures with the manufacturer and will not publish numbers we cannot document. Ask us for the current specification before ordering on technical grounds.
Does it monitor the neutral electrode? Yes. The front panel carries a dedicated neutral electrode socket with contact monitoring.
Can bipolar and monopolar instruments both be connected? Yes. The front panel has separate monopolar, endoscopic and bipolar sockets.
Is a footswitch supplied? The rear panel has a footswitch connector and the front panel a footswitch indicator. Confirm whether the footswitch is included in your configuration at order.
What mains supply does it take? The rear panel is marked for 220 V with F5AL fuses. Confirm your local supply before ordering.
