Product Overview

VI3 veterinary infusion pump - front view with carry handle, 3.0-inch backlit display, navigation keypad and infusion set door

The VI3 is a veterinary infusion pump for intravenous fluid and drug administration in canine and feline hospital practice. The operator sets the infusion rate and preset volume on the pump, which then delivers the programmed dose at constant speed, with fast infusion, bolus and KVO functions available on demand.

Three infusion modes — mL/h, drops/min and time — cover routine fluid therapy and drip-rate protocols. Occlusion and air-bubble detection, a door-open alarm and a power-on plus real-time self-test protect the patient throughout the infusion, while AC / internal battery operation keeps therapy running during transfer between ward, surgery and imaging.

Clinical Applications

  • Maintenance and replacement IV fluid therapy for hospitalised canine and feline patients
  • Controlled-rate drug infusion where total volume and delivery time must be documented
  • Perioperative fluid support in surgery and recovery, with bolus delivery on demand
  • Drip-rate protocols run in drops/min where the clinic prescribes by drop count
  • Time-based infusions, where the pump calculates rate from the set volume and duration
  • Continued therapy during in-hospital transfer on internal battery power

Workflow & Operating Notes

  • Load the infusion set into the pump channel behind the side door; the pump alarms if the set is not installed or the door is open
  • Run flow-rate accuracy calibration for the brand of infusion set in use to achieve the specified ±5% volume accuracy
  • Select rate, drop or time mode, set the rate and preset volume, then start; the screen shows rate, cumulative volume and line pressure in real time
  • Set the occlusion level (three steps) and bubble threshold (three steps) to suit the patient and catheter size
  • After the preset volume is delivered, the pump can continue at KVO rate (1–5 mL/h) to maintain catheter patency
  • Power: AC 100–240 V mains; internal battery provides more than 8 hours at 25 mL/h
  • Operating environment: +5 °C to +40 °C, 30–80% RH; IPX2 drip protection

Why Choose the VI3

  • Workflow efficiency: three infusion modes, a drug library and parameter memory shorten set-up for recurring fluid and drug protocols
  • Workflow efficiency: more than 8 hours of battery operation keeps infusions running through transfers without re-programming
  • Clinical accuracy: infusion-set calibration and ±5% volume accuracy support controlled delivery in small feline and canine patients
  • Clinical accuracy: occlusion, air-in-line and door-open alarms with real-time self-test reduce the risk of undetected delivery errors
  • Practice economics: calibration to the infusion set in use lets the clinic keep its existing consumables

Warranty & Support

Warranty terms for the main unit are confirmed at the time of order. Probes, cuffs, cables and other accessories follow standard wear-item terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which infusion modes does the VI3 support?
Rate mode in mL/h (1–1200 mL/h), drop mode in drops/min (1–400 drops/min) and time mode, where the pump runs a preset volume over a set duration.
Can I use my clinic’s existing infusion sets?
The VI3 includes flow-rate accuracy calibration, so the pump can be calibrated to the infusion set in use. The ±5% volume accuracy applies after calibration.
How long does the battery last?
The 11.1 V 2000 mAh internal battery runs for more than 8 hours at 25 mL/h. The pump also operates on AC 100–240 V mains.
What happens when an occlusion is detected?
The pump raises an occlusion alarm at the selected pressure level (three levels, 0–130 kPa range) and resumes infusion automatically once the blockage is cleared.
Does the pump keep a record of infusions?
Yes. The 1000 most recent alarm and infusion records are stored and can be reviewed on the pump at any time.
