Product Overview

VSP1 veterinary syringe pump - front view with 3.2-inch display, keypad, syringe clamp and plunger driver holding a loaded syringe

The VSP1 is a veterinary syringe pump for controlled delivery of drugs and small fluid volumes in anaesthesia, critical care and hospital wards. The operator sets the injection rate and preset total volume, and the pump delivers the dose at constant speed, with fast infusion, bolus (loading dose) and KVO functions available on demand.

The pump automatically identifies the loaded syringe size, then applies the matching flow range — from 0.1 mL/h on every syringe size up to 1500 mL/h on a 50 mL syringe. Weight-based dosing, a five-drug library, three-level occlusion pressure with automatic pressure release and dual-CPU control make it suited to constant-rate infusions in small canine and feline patients.

Key Features

  • Automatic syringe recognition: identifies 10, 20, 30 and 50 mL syringes and applies the matching flow range
  • Fine low-rate control: 0.1 mL/h minimum rate with 0.1 mL/h steps on 20, 30 and 50 mL syringes
  • Five infusion modes: flow rate, time, body weight, drug library and bolus (loading dose)
  • Delivery accuracy: 4% at ≤5 mL/h and 3% at ≥5 mL/h
  • Occlusion management: three editable blocking-pressure levels with automatic pressure release after an occlusion alarm
  • KVO rate adjustable from 0 to 1 mL/h in 0.1 mL/h steps
  • Sound-and-light alarms with voice prompts and three alarm volume levels (high, medium, low)
  • Dual-CPU control, power-on system self-test and anti-mistouch key protection
  • 1000-record history, with optional data upload

Clinical Applications

  • Constant-rate infusion (CRI) of analgesics and sedatives during anaesthesia in canine and feline patients
  • Weight-based dosing of vasoactive and inotropic drugs in critical care
  • Loading-dose (bolus) delivery followed by maintenance infusion from the same syringe
  • Low-volume fluid and drug delivery for feline, paediatric and exotic patients where gravity sets lack resolution
  • Insulin, antibiotic and electrolyte supplementation infusions in the ward

Workflow & Operating Notes

  • Place the syringe in the cradle, close the barrel clamp and engage the plunger driver; the pump identifies the syringe size automatically
  • Choose rate, time, body-weight or drug-library mode, enter the dose and start; use the bolus function for a loading dose
  • Select one of three occlusion pressure levels to suit the catheter and drug; after an occlusion alarm the pump releases line pressure automatically
  • After the preset volume is delivered, KVO (0–1 mL/h) maintains catheter patency
  • Power: AC 220 V ±22 V mains; the internal battery provides 2 h or more at 5 mL/h for transfers
  • Operating environment: +5 °C to +40 °C, 30–80% RH; IPX2 drip protection

Why Choose the VSP1

  • Workflow efficiency: automatic syringe recognition, a drug library and weight-based mode remove manual rate calculation at the cage side
  • Workflow efficiency: bolus and maintenance delivery run from one syringe without re-programming
  • Clinical accuracy: 0.1 mL/h resolution and 3–4% delivery accuracy support CRIs in small feline and canine patients
  • Clinical accuracy: three occlusion levels, automatic pressure release, dual-CPU control and self-test reduce the risk of unintended bolus or undetected occlusion
  • Practice economics: one pump covers 10–50 mL syringes, so the clinic stocks the syringe size each protocol actually needs

Warranty & Support

Warranty terms for the main unit are confirmed at the time of order. Probes, cuffs, cables and other accessories follow standard wear-item terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which syringe sizes does the VSP1 accept?
10, 20, 30 and 50 mL syringes, identified automatically when loaded. The available flow range follows the syringe size, up to 1500 mL/h on a 50 mL syringe.
Can I dose by body weight?
Yes. Body-weight mode calculates delivery from the patient’s weight and the prescribed dose, and a five-entry drug library stores frequently used drugs.
How does the pump handle an occlusion?
The blocking pressure is set at one of three editable levels. When the occlusion alarm triggers, the pump automatically releases line pressure to limit the bolus delivered once the occlusion is cleared.
How long will it run on battery?
A new, fully charged 11.1 V 2000 mAh battery runs the pump for 2 hours or more at 5 mL/h — sufficient for in-hospital transfers and short power interruptions.
What mains supply does it require?
AC 220 V ±22 V, 50 Hz ±1 Hz. Contact our sales team to confirm options for 110 V markets.
